If you google "best bike park", the first link you will get is the Whistler Bike Park and this is the truth. Whistler is one of the first bike parks in the world and is probably the most well-known. Its reputation goes beyond Canada and the best riders all come to Whistler for their training and to enjoy the world's famous trails. All this makes Whistler the best place to develop your riding skills and reach your highest potential. Trails like A-line, Canadian Open Course, Drop-in Clinic, and Whistler Downhill are just a few of the popular tracks in the Whistler Bike Park. Whistler also offers countless cross country trails with many features that will keep you busy till you master all of the black diamond bridges and rock faces. Your fitness and skill level will be tested every single ride and you will have to prove your abilities to be able to move to the next level.

Biking is an adrenalin and progressive sport and an athlete has to be strong not only in his technique, but also mentally and physically. Our Athlete Program has all these components and thanks to our world class coaches, can provide you with the best training in Whistler. National coaches and pro riders with World Cup experiences are working with our athletes to help them achieve the best results they possibly can.

Program length:

For athletes, precise development is important to have a really detailed and consistent training plan. That’s why our program goes from May till the end of October and covers all the aspects needed for our athletes to be successful in the events they will attend.

Training:

First is the time to gain flexibility, strength and get the technique ready. Whistler is surrounded with hundreds of kilometers of cross country trails for all-ability bikers and offers the best environment for the athletes' technical development. As soon as the technique is achieved, downhill training in the bike park becomes part of the training routine.

There is also time for indoor study, so classes such as bike and sport theory are offered to give students a solid background for their training. One part of the student development is also First Aid Certification because safety is the most important skill we want our students to learn.

Gym training at Meadow Park Sports Center is an important part of a student’s progression as well, to build the fitness level needed for the long summer and hard training.

Summer offers countless opportunities to discover the amazing environment surrounding Whistler. We have several team building activities and even though training is so much fun, everyone needs a little bit of relax time as well. We offer a bike expedition (overnight camping)  along with several hiking trips, wake boarding, kayaking and more.

To help our students gain as much experience as possible, our academy can provide assistance to get you the work permit for the period of your study.
