CSBA Ski-01

Skiing is one of the oldest winter sports and has attracted many skiers in the past years. There is nothing better than a huge overnight snowfall, offering knee-deep powder for you to enjoy while descending the open slopes.  Whistler is the best place to feel this freedom and we can help you make the most of it. Whistler is the biggest and most popular winter resort in North America.  It receives over 10 meters of snowfall accumulation a year and the winter season is longer than anywhere else, making Whistler the ideal place to master your skills and enjoy what we all love so much. For our year programs, six months of winter is not enough, so students spend another 8 weeks on snow through spring and summer.

Our programs are designed and developed for the best results you can achieve. Whistler Blackcomb parks are legendary and offer the best conditions for the winter training. You will be able to progress your skills as a beginner or advance free skier in just one season. You will be progresing your skills on any terrain features in park, boxes, jumps, rails,..... and our coaches will help you master your favorites. Part of the program is personal training development, personal training programs in gym, trampoline, bikes and in-line skating as well.

X-Games, Olympic Games, World cup...... just a dream? It doesn't have to be. We have had students who have become professional free style skiers.

To ski at the highest level, an athlete has to be strong not only in his technique, but also mentaly and physically. Our all-year -round athlete program has all these components and, thanks to our world class coaches, has been extremely successful. Coaches and pro free skiers with many years of experience work with our athletes to help them achieve the best results they possibly can.

To help our students gain as much experience as possible, our academy can provide assistance for you to obtain a work permit for the period of your study.

Program length:

For athletes, precise development is important and detailed and consistent training plans are essential. At CSBA, our program is one or two years and covers all the aspects needed for our athletes to be successful in the events they will attend.

Training:

Summer is the time to gain flexibility and strength for the winter season and that is why classes such as trampoline and in-line skating, mountain biking are offered. There is also more time for indoor study, so classes such a snowboard and sport theory are offered to give students a solid background before the winter training.

Gym training at Meadow Park Sports Centre is an important part of a student’s progression to build the fitness level needed for the long winter. Summer offers countless opportunities to discover the amazing environment surrounding Whistler. We have several team building activities and hike expeditions on the schedule. Even in summer, there is still plenty of opportunity to ski on the glacier so CSBA offers 4 more weeks of skiing during the summer.

The winter season is really long and most of the time we ski all day, practice new tricks and enjoy fresh snow under the close watch of our coaches. Gym training at Meadow Park Sports Centre is an important part of an athlete’s progression and has to continue even in winter. Even though training is so much fun, everyone needs a little bit of relax time as well.   We offer an avalanche course and a winter expedition (overnight camping) to practice our avalanche skills in the back country.
