The goal of the instructor program is to acquire the skills necessary to meet the Ski Instructor Qualifications of Canada (CSIA)- mainly attaining Level I and/or Level II CSIA certification. With the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance (CSIA) license, it is easy to work all over the world as a ski instructor. This license is recognized internationally and meets all the requirements of ISIA (International Ski Instructors Association). Students receive classroom instruction as well as on-mountain instruction to improve both skiing and teaching abilities.  Teaching methods, class management, safety and ski instruction are all part of the course.  The students take part in training classes to improve physical strength and balance and many hours are spent working on ski techniques.

Whistler is one of the top word ski resorts for many years and is offering the best ski conditions for more than 5 months a year. Its easy to improve your ski technique and have fun while you are skiing. Whistler is very busy town with many night clubs and bars to relax after all day training, or you can join another outdoor activities while you are in Whistler.

Our Instructor Course has all the components to enable students to succeed at this.  The program instructors, come with many years of experience in the ski industry, are from all over the world and work with our students to help them become good leaders and instructors.

Training:

All year programs only:

Summer is the time to gain flexibility and strength for the winter season and that is why classes such as biking and in-line skating are offered. There is also more time for indoor study, so classes such a snowboard and sport theory are offered to give students a solid background before the winter training.

Gym training at Meadow Park Sports Centre is an important part of a student’s progression to build the fitness level needed for the long winter. Summer offers countless opportunities to discover the amazing environment surrounding Whistler. We have several team building activities and hike expeditions on the schedule. Even in summer, there is still plenty of opportunity to ski on the glacier so CSBA offers 4 more weeks of skiing during the summer.

All winter programs (year round, season courses and GAP year programs):

The winter season is really long and most of the time we ski all day long and practice our skills and enjoying fresh snow under close supervison of our top instructors. The students are taking part in indoor classes as video analysis and instructor theory. Even though training is so much fun, everyone needs a little bit of relax time as well.   We offer an avalanche course and a winter expedition (overnight camping) to practice our avalanche skills in the back country (all included in the price).
