1. What to keep in mind when you enroll at CSBA.

CSBA was established under the permit of the Government of British Columbia, and is dedicated exclusively to educating students in the field of sports and business. When you decided to enroll, please fully understand the main ideas and goals of each participating program and keep in mind that it is a place to study special technique and knowledge. It is necessary for you to actively participate in classes to achieve goals such as improving skills and acquiring licenses.

Especially it is important to attend in mandatory classes that require accumulation and continuation of knowledge. It is not rare that students feel liberated by living overseas and tend to forget the initial goals and tension as they become accustomed to the environment. Especially, we do not allow students to go skiing without attending mandatory indoor lectures during the winter season. Please consider the reason of enrolling in school, and if you feel that there may be a possibility for you to behave this way, we request that you do not enroll in our school. In addition, please do not forget that following rules and keeping promises are important in leading a fruitful school life, and it is one of the common senses that students must possess as athletes. We expect that you will stick to your principles, and your sensible acts as athletes would lead to a success. We also strive to improve our programs, so if you have any suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact the school staff.

2. Appropriate Behaviors and Living Guidance to Study Overseas

Since we accept students from overseas, we also arrange appropriate accommodations. However, this does not mean that we are supervising the students 24 hours a day as in boarding schools, so we expect students to take responsibilities in their own actions during free times. It is necessary to follow rules and manners to have a smooth school life overseas. As a school that offers professional education, living guidance is not a part of our responsibility, but considering the nature of students from different cultures, there are cases in which basic instructions are given. We set accommodation rules so that students do not cause trouble to others by inappropriate behaviors such as parties very late at night, noise, and careless fires. We also set policies to pay attention to curfews (for safety), cleaning rooms, and taking out the garbage (health). We respect the independence of students, but please understand that we expect students to follow these rules and policies to lead a cooperative and smooth life with the people they live, and living guidance is a part of the school policy.

In the case of accepting students less than 19 years of age, we may give stricter guidance in and out of school considering their safeties.

3. Attending Classes

1. Students are encouraged to participate in classes and school events.

2. If you have suggestions/ opinions for classes, please inform the staff/ instructors, as we would like to positively consider them as long as they meet program goals and purposes.

3. Students are required to follow rules and directions of staff and instructors both inside and outside school premises.

4. Prior notice to school is required if you are unable to attend or will be late for class.

5. You may be asked to leave the class if disturbing or inappropriate behavior is observed.

4. Mandatory Classes- English, & Sports

1. If your attendance percentage falls under 75%, you are unable to receive a diploma.

(Excludes special circumstances such as illnesses and injuries.)

2. Use of other languages is not permitted in English classes and school building.

(You may be asked to leave the class if you are repeatedly given a warning.)

5. Use of Helmets

Some training, which may lead to accidents, is included considering the nature of sports. Especially, there is a higher possibility to get injured while skiing and snowboarding since the styles are moving more towards jumping. It is required to wear helmets for students who are snowboarding, mogul skiing, freestyle skiing, skateboarding, inline skating, and mountain biking. Students who do not wear helmets are not allowed in classes. In addition, participating in classes, lectures, and trainings is according to each student's will and eagerness to accomplish one's goal, so we do not allow students to enroll at CSBA without proper travel accident insurances to prepare for unexpected accidents or injuries.
