Students in our outdoor program experience training in one of the world’s largest outdoor recreational areas. The mountain bike bark and cross-country trails offer more terrain than any other place. There are 5 nearby areas where the students have access to experience kayaking and canoeing and 15 white water rivers all within one hour of Whistler. The program is offered for those with a basic ability up to a very advanced level. Students have the opportunity to start at a beginner level and can improve in both instructional methods and techniques.
The mountain bike park boasts over 300 km of single-track and is quickly becoming known as the free ride capital of the world. Students are instructed in biking techniques on cross-country single trails as well as downhill mountain biking.
Paddling can be enjoyed at all levels and the program can easily be adapted to meet the level and style of each student. All levels are taught to meet the standards of WKABC and assessments are done by qualified instructors.
There is opportunity for students to participate in a weekly cross-country race for locals and to volunteer at outdoor sporting events. To complete their experience, students take advantage of the many other outdoor activities in the community of Whistler; such as hiking, overnight backpacking and mountain biking. CSBA’s program makes use of this high quality recreational environment to instruct students.
